Welcome to Happy Camper Place

Welcome to Happy Camper Place

Hi there!

We are so excited that you are here.

We absolutely love camping, and we hope that you love it as much as we do. Camping is our chance to spend time together as a family, get away from the stress of our lives, and make some fun memories on our crazy adventures. We like camp as much as possible, so we have some pretty crazy stories that we want to share with you and hopefully give you a good laugh. We also want to share your stories! We love to here the awesome vacations that our readers take and share them so everyone can hear about the amazing places or camping hacks that they can try out this summer. So share your camping memories and hacks with us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, email, or in the comments section below! And don't forget to check out our website at happycamperplace.com.

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner, which means the first vacation of the season. We are headed to Starvation Reservoir State Park in Duchesne, Utah with all of our kids and grandkids. We are so excited! What are your plans for memorial day?

Starvation Reservoir is one of our favorite places to go. There are so many fun things to do there! We love the cute little campground that sits right on the lake, so we can sit on the sand right outside our trailer and watch the grandkids play in the water (and admire our very own personalized camping flag, of course). While we are there, our kids love boating and fishing. The reservoir is so beautiful, people often call it "Little Lake Powell" because of its resemblance to the National Park, with its canyon inlets and rock islands. Have you ever been to Starvation Reservoir? What are your favorite things to do there?

It takes a lot to get ready for the first camping trip of the season. The trailer has been stored away for the cold winter months, and it's time to take off the cover. There is so much stuff that needs to be loaded back into the trailer after it has been sitting idle all winter, and we always seem to forget a few things on the first trip. To help us - and you - remember all of the essentials, we are going to create a checklist of everything to remember for your first camping trip of the summer. Keep an eye out for the list to help you get started packing for your own Memorial Day weekend plans, and let us know if there is anything you want us to add to the list!
